This is a television comedy show aimed at young women in their twenties. Our heroine is an underpaid, overworked young talk show producer. Her therapist is her smart talking dog who also cooks and cleans her apartment. The supporting cast features an oppressive, diva-like boss (voiced by Kim Cattrall), an impossibly attractive brainless intern, and a slacker love interest.
This low-budget, two season series, animated in Flash, required clever visual development to deliver the most bang for the buck. The solution was a flat, graphic, stylized design with punchy, saturated colour. I really wanted the characters to pop from the background. Good comedy uses great pacing, and that means a strong focus on leica reels (animatics). My editor and I were elbow-to-elbow on this show!
